Choose from 5 spool sizes to get the perfect amount of Magnet Wire for your project, at 38 AWG.
Magnet wire is copper wire, coated in a thin layer of insulation. In this case the insulation is made up of a thin layer of polyester insulation, with a Polyamideimide overcoat, designed to protect the wire from short circuiting. Raw copper is drawn to meet specific size requirements based on the National Electrical Manufacturer's Association (NEMA) standards.
This protective coating and magnet wire’s high temperature properties make it suitable for a variety of thermal overload applications. This magnet wire meets the NEMA MW-35-C standard for operating temperature (200°C/392°F) and insulation makeup.
Magnet wire is commonly found in wound coils, transformers, solenoids, motors, instruments and more. Magnet wire is also often used in educational science projects with students of all ages. There is a lot to learn about magnet wire, and the plenty of needs it can meet.
