A general-purpose steel alloy that can be easily welded or formed, this 304 stainless steel meets ASTM A276 specifications and contains 8 percent nickel and 18 percent chromium. This allows for greater oxidation resistance when used in temperatures up to 1,600°F. This stainless steel flat bar is also highly resistant to corrosion and heat, and hardening by cold working is a great choice for this metal.
