This 304 general-purpose stainless steel is made up of 8 percent nickel and 18 percent chromium. This allows it to be used in temperatures up to 1,600°F and maintain excellent oxidation resistance. Easy to weld or form, this 304 stainless steel meets ASTM A276 specifications. It also reacts well to hardening by cold working and benefits from high resistance to corrosion and heat.
