Our 18 AWG nichrome wire is perfect for professionals and hobbyists alike. This particular resistance wire is Nichrome 80, an alloy nominally composed of 80 percent nickel and 20 percent chromium. This mixture gives the wire great mechanical strength and resistance to oxidation at high temperatures. Our wire conforms to ASTM B344 specifications, and is rated for continuous use at up to 1200°C (2192°F).
You can find nichrome 80 used in electronic cigarette & vape coils, hot wire cutters for foam/plastics/rubber, and tools & appliances that utilize an enclosed heating element, such as soldering irons, hair straighteners, clothing irons, toasters, and water heaters. Remington Industries offers this resistance wire in 7 different spool sizes and 10 different wire gauges (from 14 to 32 AWG) to best fit your project.
